All-American Leads MacArthur Over Mansfield
IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - All-American Alexis Jones, who has signed to play college basketball at Duke University next season, scored 26 points Tuesday night to lead defending state champion Irving MacArthur to a lopsided 81-53 bi-district girls basketball playoff win over Mansfield.
MacArthur, the state’s top-ranked team, advanced to play Keller in the area round of the Class 5A playoffs on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. at Colleyville Heritage High School.
Tenth-ranked DeSoto used stifling defense to shut down Killeen Ellison 43-22. The Lady Eagles move on to play Garland, a 58-39 winner over Richardson Berkner behind Bridget Robinson’s 18 points.
Stabresa McDaniel’s 18 points helped 15th-ranked Dallas Skyline romp past McKinney Boyd 60-30. Skyline will play Mesquite in the area round.
